FUE Hair Transplant
Follicular unit extraction is a technique for extracting hair grafts. The acronym FUE comes from the term follicular units extraction and FUE involves one individual 'root' hair being extracted of the scalp individually. It's a procedure for extracting grafts (individual hair clumps).
In the past, FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) was used to remove a tissue piece from the donor area that averaged 1cm wide and 10-15 cm long, the grafts were then removed, one by one, from this tissue piece. You can achieve up to 2000 grafts with this procedure and you will end up with a big scar. It is almost never used nowadays because it has so many drawbacks as compared to the FUE process
Transplanted hair is harvested using the FUE procedure and transplanted using sowing techniques like DHI, Sapphire FUE, and Unshaven.
