General Eye Examination
General eye examination is a routine set of assessments done by an ophthalmologist or other specialists, in collaboration with optometrists to examine your eyes. There are different types of general eyes checks which assess different aspects of your vision; it's advised that everyone should have periodic general eye checks to look at their eye health and see if anything needs attention.
To maintain healthy eyes, you should get a complete eye examination once in your twenties and twice in your thirties. Children need to have an eye examination by a general practitioner before they can start pre-school and then follow up every 1-2 years.
We encourage every child and teenager to ensure they receive an eye exam at the least twice a year. The longer you wait, the higher risk of developing serious vision problems later on.
